Last week for Doing Good is Good Business, we did a design workshop to practice solving problems– we paired up to solve each other’s problems with communicating with distant loved ones. I paired with Dorothy, who had trouble reaching a friend of hers in Dubai.

I had a bit of trouble thinking of creative ideas in that short amount of time– these aren’t very radical ideas at all. Practice makes perfect though!

I settled on a design concept of collaboratively drawing from far away, since I got the sense from Dorothy that she and her friend were both artists. It was also inspired by a few different ‘couple apps’ I’ve seen, which let you see where your partner has touched on screen. While doing that, why not make art?

Dorothy also came up with an amazing prototype to solve my problem of figuring out when is best to call my mom– which reminds me, I should go do that right now!
